Presidents Message:

by: Judy Swanberg

Many thanks for the hard work by Denise Hance on the Egg Hunt and Helen DePriest with the screening van. They were both a success and the weather held off for these events. Winter came back the following day. A thank you to all who helped Helen and Denise. Encourage your friends to join us, we do a lot and have fun doing it. Thank You, Lion Judy

Upcoming Meetings

Lion's Club will meet next on April 1st from 12 noon to 1 pm and again on April 15th from 7 pm to 8 pm at Covington Multicare Clinic in Room 120 Education Center (1st floor)

Activity and Committee Reports

Activities Report: submitted by Helen DePreist, The Lions Screening Van was here on March 22 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. We had five volunteers from MultiCare in Auburn. We also had one volunteer from the Vision center in Maple Valley to do the hearing tests. We didn't have as many responses as we would have liked but those that did take advantage of the services were quite pleased. I also handed out a lot of applications for membership.

Egg Hunt Report: submitted by Denise Hance The egg hunt was a great success again this year. Lots of kids, lots of eggs and lots fun had by all. A big THANKS to Denise Hance and all her volunteers. A special thanks to Epic Church.

Covington Days Report: submitted by Judy Swanberg The committee is working hard to make this a good year for the Festival. The Parade is definitely back, but we no have a carnival and are trying to substitute for that with other fun things for teens. The application is on the website for the vendors and parade. Keep the date on your calendars, as there is always a need for volunteers.

Fishing Derby report: submitted by Theresa DeLeon Everything is moving along for the derby. The Covington Lions club will be supplying the ice to pack the fish in and the club will also be in charge of set up/lay out. The derby is in need of more volunteers for the day of the event. April 26,2008 at 10:00 am.
